Jay LaBoy has been nominated for two Abilene Awards for
Best Guitarist in Philadelphia and was chosen as Artist of the
Month by PhillyBlues.com. Jay has shared the stage and studio
with players like Jeff Pitchell, Jimi Bell, the legendary Jimmy
Dawkins, Jefre Washington, Buddy Cash, Burt Teague,
Marc Iezzi and many more amazing artists.

In his 20 year career, Jay has toured the world and performed
for thousands of fans. His CD releaseshave received rave reviews
from each and every music lover that has heard Jay's songs
and his fiery guitar playing.

Jay is now a solo musician working for Carnival Cruise Lines
but he is still available for solo acoustic performances,
studio work, touring, and/or positions as a songwriter, lead
or rhythm guitarist, lead or background vocals and anything
else musical (when he's not out at sea, of course).

1989: began playing guitar (self taught) in Connecticut, taking tips from players like Jimi Bell, Jeff Pitchell and Burt Teague.
1989-1995: joined the band, Twist of Fate (singer/guitarist), playing classic rock covers.
Sept.-Oct. 1995: toured for the United States Defense Department Tours through South Korea and Japan as singer/guitarist with Twist of Fate.
June-Dec. 1996: sold guitars and studied under Connecticut guitar legend, Jimi Bell, at The Music Exchange in Newington, Connecticut.
1997: played a three month tour through the United States (Pittsburgh through western Colorado) with variety band, Sister Sez.
1998: relocated to Pennsylvania from Connecticut and joined the five piece traditional blues band, Wall of Blues.

May 1998-Sept. 2007: started the blues/rock/funk band, "Hurricane" Jay LaBoy & In Step as frontman/guitarist and group manager.

In Step

May 1998: backed up Chicago blues legend, Jimmy Dawkins, at a show honoring Mr. Dawkins held at the Adams Mark Hotel in Philadelphia.
May 1999: released first CD (all original material) entitled, "Step Aside", with In Step. JimmyDawkins appeared on two tracks.

June - Aug. 1999: Nominated twice for Best Guitarist in Philadelphia at the Annual Abilene Blues Club Awards.

July 2000: played the Lehigh Valley Blues Festival with Sean Costello and Big Joe & The Dynaflows.

June 2003: played WIP 610 AM’s Annual Beef & BBQ at Veteran Stadium in Philadelphia with In Step.

Aug. 2003: played with In Step for the Phillies organization at Veteran Stadium Podium and became the last podium band at the Vet before it was torn down.

Sept.2004: joined The Buicks.
March 2005: signed to Teletone Records as a member of The Buicks.

June 2006: recorded first ever solo acoustic CD, "Songs From A One Bedroom Apartment".

July 2006: released "The Buicks featuring "Hurricane" Jay LaBoy" on Teletone Records.

July 2006: left The Buicks to promote a solo acoustic release.
August 2006: signed to Teletone Records as a solo artist.

September 2006: left Teletone Records to independently release solo acoustic CD, "Songs From A One Bedroom Apartment" and began playing solo and duo acoustic shows.

October 2006: formed acoustic act Acoustically Speaking with Marc Iezzi.
November 2006: reunited with Marc Iezzi and Tom Donovan as The Shakedancer Band to play shows backing up harmonica player and vocalist, Russ Lambert.

December 2006: reformed "Hurricane" Jay LaBoy & In Step with Marc Iezzi and Willie Williams.

In Step
..

December 2006: (along with Marc Iezzi) produced and released the live "Hurricane" Jay LaBoy & In Step DVD, containing rare live performances from the band.

March 2007: joined the chart topping band Hit The Ground Runnin' featuring Paul Piccari and Adam Ferraioli from the highly successful Led Zeppelin tribute band, Get The Led Out, and Kayla Higgenbotham (Billy Paul and many, many other highly acclaimed projects).

May 2007: formed the acoustic duo The Willie Williams Duo with In Step bassist, Willie Williams.
September 2007: left all projects to concentrate on rehearsals with Hit The Ground Runnin' and play solo acoustic shows under the name Acoustically Speaking.

April 2008: performed with Hit The Ground Runnin' during a worldwide webcast. (Broadcast at SyncLive.com.)

April 2008: signed on as the first artist handled by Kerry Rows' Artist Management.

August 2008: relocated to Connecticut, playing acoustic shows as Acoustically Speaking and playing with various Connecticut area bands.
November 2008: Acoustically Speaking began playing shows as an artist for Top Notch Talent, located in Plainville, Connecticut.
August 2009: began an eight month contract with Carnival Cruise Lines aboard the Carnival Miracle as a solo acoustic musician.
July 2010: began a one month contract with Carnival Cruise Lines aboard the Carnival Dream as a solo acoustic musician.
